Research Promotion Committee

The Research Promotion Committee manages and supports both the Society-level fundraising and Chapter-level fundraising of the RP Campaign. Traditionally supporting just research, the RP Campaign was expanded 10 years ago to include support of Education & ALI, Endowed Research through ASHRAE Foundation, YEA programs, ASHRAE Scholarships, and the General/Unrestricted fund. Research, the backbone of ASHRAE, remains the primary fund of the program with over $2 million raised for this program annually.

The 2024-2025 Research Promotion Campaign is in full swing! Our goal is $39,000 this year, so every contribution counts.

Please continue to help us reach our Research goal again this year.

There are two ways to contribute:

  1. Online here.  Please fill in all the required information and remember to put BALTIMORE CHAPTER in the Assigned ASHRAE Chapter area so your chapter can receive credit.
  2. Mail in a check. Please print a copy of the receipt invoice and make your checks out to ASHRAE RESEARCH FUND.  Again, please remember to add BALTIMORE CHAPTER to the memo line.  Send to:

ASHRAE Research is the Umbrella of Funds that Accept Donations

  • RESEARCH: (Most common fund to which donors contribute)
    Our region receives over $585,000 in research projects which is more than twice the amount the region collects in donations per year.
  • FOUNDATION: Operates on the principal of Endowment. Donor gifts are invested for a set return of 5% per year. Gifts to the Foundation allow you to support ASHRAE and the programs you believe in forever.
  • EDUCATION: ALI (American Learning Institute) which is not a building or a structure of bricks and mortar. Rather it is built upon an educational and training foundation laid by the industry’s leading educators and practitioners.
  • GENERAL FUND: (Second moct common fund to which donors contribute)
    Contributes support research projects, education programs, sustainability projects, membership enhancements.
  • SCHOLARSHIPS: ASHRAE offers a number of scholarships to students of engineering. A donation to Scholarships will be used to support all scholarships that ASHRAE offers.
 

ASHRAE Research Promotion Donor Levels and Recognition

Golden Circle Donors ($10,000 and over)

  • Invited to Society’s Winter Meeting - Board of Directors Luncheon. Dine with the Board and other VIP quests.
  • Invited to Society’s Winter Meeting - President’s Luncheon. Recognized by the Master of Ceremonies for those in attendance.
  • A group photo of the Golden Circle investors is taken at the President’s Luncheon and published in a spring issue of the ASHRAE Insights.
  • Listed on a kiosk at the entrance to the President’s Luncheon.
  • Investors are prominently listed on the ASHRAE Research Promotion Display in the Society’s registration Area at the Winter Meeting.
  • Annual Investor Honor Roll listed in the October ASHRAE Journal.
  • Receives Gold ASHRAE Commemorative Coin and Plaque.

ASHRAE Partner ($5,000-$9,999)

  • Investors are prominently listed on the ASHRAE Research Promotion Display in the Society’s registration Area at the Winter Meeting.
  • Annual Investor Honor Roll listed in the October ASHRAE Journal.
  • Personalized shadowbox plaque.
  • Receives Gold ASHRAE Commemorative Coin and Plaque.

ASHRAE Associate ($2,500-$4,999)

  • Investors are prominently listed on the ASHRAE Research Promotion Display in the Society’s registration Area at the Winter Meeting.
  • Annual Investor Honor Roll listed in the October ASHRAE Journal.
  • Receives Gold ASHRAE Commemorative Coin and Plaque.

Major Donor - Silver ($1,000 - $2,499)

  • Annual Investor Honor Roll listed in the October ASHRAE Journal.
  • Receives Silver ASHRAE Commemorative Coin and Plaque.

Major Donor - Bronze ($500 - $999)

  • Annual Investor Honor Roll listed in the October ASHRAE Journal.
  • Receives Bronze ASHRAE Commemorative Coin and Plaque.

Major Donor - Antique Coin ($250 - $499)

  • Annual Investor Honor Roll listed in the October ASHRAE Journal.
  • Receives Antique ASHRAE Commemorative Coin and Plaque.

Honor Roll Donor - Antique Coin ($150 - $249) *($500 minimum for business investors)
